Corazo Credit Union was among 181 credit unions nationwide named as winners of the prestigious Diamond Awards, America’s Credit Unions Marketing, PR & Development Council’s annual competition recognizing excellence in credit union marketing. The award was presented on March 24 in Denver, Colorado.
Corazo Credit Union received recognition in the following category:
- Rebrand/New Corporate Identity – “Removing Barriers through Branding”

This year’s competition drew a record-breaking 1,481 submissions, with 181 credit unions from 42 states elected as winners. As only one of six credit unions under $250 million in assets to earn a Diamond Award, Corazo Credit Union stood out nationally for its ability to deliver an inspiring people-centered brand transformation that rivals even the largest credit unions in the nation.
“Our goal was never just to look different, it was to be different,” said Fidel Gonzalez, President/CEO of Corazo Credit Union. “Our rebrand was designed to break down barriers, build trust, and reflect who we are at our core. This recognition affirms our commitment to creating meaningful value for our members and ensuring they feel known, valued, and supported.”
“In an industry often defined by transactions and processes, we wanted our new name to center on listening first, simplifying banking, and showing up for our members across all the communities we serve,” said Marlena Renteria, Chief Experience Officer at Corazo Credit Union. “This award validates our team’s effort to define why Corazo exists and to ensure our brand represents the people and stories that shape our communities.”
The recognition marks Corazo Credit Union’s first-ever Diamond Award. More than a marketing achievement, it reflects Corazo Credit Union’s purpose to a community-rooted rebrand built to strengthen belonging, remove obstacles to banking, and reinforce the philosophy of people helping people that has guided Corazo for more than 83 years.
